About The Vasa Ski Club

The mission of Vasa Ski Club  is to promote access and enjoyment of Nordic skiing
through instruction, recreation, and community.

For the past 35 years, Vasa Ski Club has promoted the joy of cross country skiing to the residents of Northwest Michigan.  Founded as “Traverse Nordic Ski Club”, we later changed the name to Vasa Ski Club to reflect the legendary Vasa Pathway that many of us regularly ski. However, our club activities are definitely not limited to the Vasa trail, and we can be found all across the Grand Traverse region enjoying the beauty of winter out on the trails.

We have a wonderful group of members who are skiers of all ages and all ability levels. What they share in common is simply a fondness for skinny skis, and gliding down a snowy winter trail. It might be a leisurely outing with friends, or possibly racing in one of our area's premier events. Looking to build your skills? You've come to the right place. Our skier development programs are a key component of our club's mission - and we have something for everyone from elementary age up through adult. We also sponsor a high school Nordic ski team and a Michigan Cup race team as well. Additionally, we offer a variety of other clinics, events and social gatherings throughout the year. Please take a look at our membership options... we'd love to have your join us!
